Village Halls Week
Village Halls Week,Tuesday 22 to Monday 28 January 2019
Bramley Village Hall will be supporting this national initiative to celebrate the role of village halls in local communities. The campaign is supported by Action Hampshire and the ACRE network of rural development charities. In particular, the campaign wants to show how village halls help to tackle social isolation, giving people a local venue for activities from lunch clubs and support groups to exercise classes and film shows.
Here in Bramley, we have a large number of clubs and groups meeting at the Village Hall, catering for a broad range of interests and age groups. One of the most diverse is the Yoga group led by Samantha Webber, with men and women aged between 15 and 70 enjoying her classes. Samantha recognises the importance of the Village Hall:
“Bramley Village Hall has been great for me – good available parking, heating, a central village location that is easy to access, and the booking manager has been amazing – she’s extremely helpful and really made me feel welcome. The community spirit in the hall is lovely, and I know a few of the ladies that come to my class also do Zumba and some of the other classes held there – it’s a real hub of the village and something that I’m really happy to be a part of.’’
If you want to join a group or class, or if you’re interested in starting something new, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your Village Hall, Bramley Village Hall.
